Eine intestine strukturierte Terminologiedatenbank ist deshalb für viele overseas agierende Unternehmen und Organisationen zu einem festen Bestandteil ihrer Arbeit geworden, denn sie schafft Konsistenz und Qualität.
Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es daher, die Aspekte einer solchen Terminologiedatenbank und ihrer Erstellung für das Thema Komplikationen und klinische Therapie verbrennungsbedingter Gewebeschäden im Übersetzungskontext aufzuarbeiten. Im Vorfeld werden dabei in einem schriftlichen Teil neben den Grundelementen der Terminologielehre auch die medizinische Fachsprache und das Themengebiet einführend erörtert. Abschließend erfolgt eine terminologische Untersuchung, in der eine geeignete Eintragsstruktur für das Fachgebiet Medizin sowie das Terminologiemanagement-Tool SDL MultiTerm erläutert werden. Als praktischer Teil wird eine Terminologiedatenbank zum Thema erstellt.
